If you had the chance to see the worldwide Netflix series „The Witcher”, this is a tour you should definitely join. We will take you to the Ogrodzieniec Castle where scenes of this series were directed in. This is not the first time Ogrodzieniec had the chance to become famous, scenes of other film productions have been directed here as well. The landscape around the castle is just perfect for historical, battle and outdoor scenes which make a great impression.

Let us take you to Ogrodzieniec Castle which is the biggest and most popular attraction in the region Silesia. The castle are on the so-called Eagles’ Nests Trail which is a part of the Jurassic mountain range which stretches between Krakow and Czestochowa. The beauty of Ogrodzieniec comes not only from its size and location on the highest hill of the Upland but also from the picturesque white rocks which surround its ruins. The original castle was built in 14th century but throughout history it was rebuilt and destroyed many times. It witnessed historical events such as the Swedish Invasion.
Since the beginning of the 20th century, a number of initiatives have been taken to protect the ruins. Nowadays, they are available mainly for tourists and mass events are regularly organized here. Of course just like in almost every castle, there is a legend that during nights with the full moon, a shadow of large black dog pulling long chain appears. Most think it is the spirit of one of the rich and cruel rulers of the castle.

After visiting Ogrodzieniec we will take you to Ojcow National Park where on the way we will stop by the famous rock called the Club of Hercules’ by the Pieskowa Skala Castle. Then you will have free time in the Park where you have the chance to try the local traditional meal – a smoked or grilled trout and to visit the ruins of the medieval Castle in Ojcow, the Krakow Gate and the Lokieteks’ Cave which is the longest one among the 700 caves in the park and a must-see while visiting this area.
