Lodz: Tour to Warsaw

Warsaw is widely recognized as one of the most interesting cities in Europe. The biggest city of Poland is also full of contradictions which is a result of its tough history. The residents of this city experienced both moments of glory and tragic events. More than 80% of Warsaw was destroyed during World War II, especially during the Warsaw Uprising in 1944. However, the later reconstruction turned out to be a great success and the city regained its former splendor. Today, Warsaw is a dynamically changing city with one of the highest number of skyscrapers in Europe and it still hides many secrets. Discover all of them with our great local guides.

Tour itinerary:

  1. morning hotel pick up (exact time depends on train schedule),
  2. transfer to the train station in Lodz accompanied by English speaking driver
  3. receiving 2nd class return train tickets for standard train connection between Lodz and Warsaw from the driver,
  4. approx. 1,5 hour of comfortable journey by train on your own from Lodz to Warsaw,
  5. getting off the train in Warsaw and meeting our local, private city guide at the platform
  6. approximately 4 hours of private guided Warsaw City Tour in chosen language which will be partially driving and partially walking tour during which you will see:
  • the Royal Park called Lazienki – the largest park in the city, the Palace on the Water and the Chopin’s Monument is located here,
  • the Palace of Culture and Science, constructed in 1955, it houses various public and cultural institution
  • the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier – the only surviving part of the destroyed Saxon Palace; monument dedicated to all the soldiers that died for the freedom and independence of Poland,
  • the area of the former Jewish Ghetto, the Memorial to the Heroes of the Ghetto the Museum of the history of Polish Jews (without entrance) – before the war, Jews constituted approx. 30 percent of city ​​residents
  • the Monument of the Warsaw Uprising 1944 – a monument giving an honour to the all heroes of Warsaw Uprising,
  • The Old Town – oldest part of the city, full of colourful tenement houses and the unique atmosphere, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1980,
  • The Barbican – a semicircular gate and part of the city walls,
  • The Warsaw Old Town Market Square – probably the charmest square in the city, located in the heart of the Old Town, meticulously rebuilt after the war
  • St.John’s Cathedral – built in the 14th century; Stanislaw August Poniatowski, the last king of Poland was crowned here,
  • The Royal Castle with its Square and Sigismund’s Column– royal residence of the Polish rulers, one of Warsaw’s most famous landmarks
  • the Royal Route – the most famous route in the city connecting three former residences of Polish rulers,

7. up to 4 hours of free time to discover the city by yourself and having lunch break (on your request we can make it shorter or longer – depends on the train connections)
8. reaching railway station in Warsaw on your own after free time or with assistance of our English speaking driver – according to your wish
9. return journey by train from Warsaw to Lodz (approx. 1,5 hour)
10. pick up at the platform of railway station in Lodz by our English speaking driver and transfer back to your hotel in Lodz
