Let us take you to one of the most beautiful cities in northern Poland – Torun. This medieval and academic town was the place where world-famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus was born. Its architecture is so unique that it was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1997. The Old and New Town, an original street pattern and medieval buildings create the atmosphere of the past. The most important sites are the well-preserved Town Hall from 13th century, the 14th – century Gothic Church of the Virgin Mary and ruins of the Castle of the Teutonic Knights. You will also get to the Leaning Tower which is a part of medieval city walls and one of the most interesting attractions in the city. Visiting Torun, you are advised to try a local speciality – a gingerbread known as piernik.
