Bedtime Cartoons Museum
The history of the Bedtime Cartoons Museum began with the idea of Wojciech Jama, the collector who made a gift of the memorabilia he collected for many years to the city of Rzeszow with the intention of establishing a local government museum. It was lucky to arrange this magical place with him and organize the exhibition, which first visitors could see on 27 February 2009. Bedtime Cartoons Museum was officially opened on March 22 , in the presence of Cartoons enthusiasts, by Filip and Martynka children accompanying the President of the City, Tadeusz Ferenc, who is an admirer of Rumcajs in private. For nearly two years the museum was located in a small in a historic town house on 8 Slowackiego Street and was visited by over 45,000 people.
The second birthday coincided with the removal of the Museum to new, spacious premises at 13 Mickiewicza Street and the enlargement of the exposition as well as the increase of the number of museum's employees. The birthday and the opening of the new premises were a great opportunity to have fun. There were musical attractions such as concerts performed by young fans of bedtime cartoons and a performance of the Small Instruments Band who played beautiful pieces of music on toy instruments with virtuosity. Bedtime Cartoons Museum engages in active exhibition and education activities both inside and outside the institution and in other educational and cultural establishments. The most popular educational activities are the meetings entitled from fairy tales to bedtime cartoons which they organize from the very beginning with the Library for Children and Youth , a division of Provincial and Municipal Public Library, where fans of bedtime cartoons get to know the literary originals of their favorite cartoon characters. Very popular are also the courses from the cycle The art of animation consisting of meetings with artists, and art, film and puppetry workshops linked with the popular children's animation. They also organize lessons and courses outside the Museum called Wandering Bedtime Cartoons and Meetings with Bedtime Cartoons.
