Auschwitz-Birkenau, German Nazi Concentration and Extermination Camp
It was the largest extermination camp of the Third Reich which claimed over 1 million victims, mainly Jews, Poles, Roma, Russians.
Now it is a museum and testimony of a genocide made by Nazis during the World War II. Watching fences, barbed wire, guard towers, barracks, gallows, gas chambers and crematories it's hard to believe that people can be so cruel. Today it's a warning to the world still full of prejudice. [Polish Sites on UNESCO List]
