Polish health resorts are spread around whole Poland. Most of them are located in the south part of Poland (mostly in the Lower Silesia region and the Lesser Poland region), on the mountain areas. The most popular health resorts are: Ciechocinek, Duszniki-Zdrój, Krynica-Zdrój, Szczawnica, Sopot, Nałęczów, and more.
Ciechocinek is one of the biggest health resorts in Poland. It is called 'Pearl of Kujawy” and is situated about 200 km north-west of the capital city of Warsaw. Ciechocinek is picturesquely located on the Vistula River. It has the local saline springs. The therapeutic qualities of these springs help in curing cardiovascular, orthopedic, rheumatic, nervous system and women's diseases. Moreover, the main attractions of Ciechocinek are also unique saline graduation towers.
Sudety Mountain area is an another 'healing' area in Poland. There can be found such spa towns as Kudowa, Polanica, Lądek Zdrój and Duszniki. The origins of the healt resort – Duszniki-Zdrój are dated back to the 18h century, but the town was founded in the 10th century. It has been very popular resort. The world-famous composer – Fryderyk Chopin visited that place as a teenager. That's why, the International Chopin Festival is organised here every year. In Duszniki, there are the natural sparkling waters using treatment of cardiac problems, gastrical problems. Balneological facilities are used in osteoporosis treatment.
Krynica- Zdrój has over 20-years tradition as a health resort. Unique spa town's architecture attracts not only many patients but also tourists who come here to spend their time actively in mountains. Krynica- Zdrój is a perfect place for nature-lovers too because it offers many trekking/biking trails, skiing facilities. Krynica is a birth-town of famous artist called Nikifor. Each year, international event of Economic Forum is held here. Krynica-Zadrój is a big healing centre. Many illnesses of the digestive and urinary, cardiovascular and metabolism are treated there. Krynica offers numerous spa hospitals, drilling, pump rooms or bottling mineral and medicinal waters.
