House of Poetry-Museum of Halina Poswiatowska in Czestochowa Museum

In the family house of Halina Poswiatowska, the Czestochowa Museum created the House of Poetry. It is a museum exhibition of memory of the outstanding poet, as well as a place where writers, poets and lovers of literature and art meet. The house in which the poet lived was rebuilt in 2006. The exposition was organised in accordance with scenario by Dr. Hurnikowa from the Jan Dlugosz University who is the author of a book about poets from Czestochowa.

Every room was arranged in a different colour and the whole museum is a multimedia experience – Halina Poswiatowska’s voice can be heard from speakers, photographs of the poet from different periods of her life are showed on screens and display cases include souvenirs connected with “Haska” and different editions of her books. Exhibit items come from family collections.
Zbigniew Myga – a brother of the prematurely deceased poet – lives in the vicinity of the House of Poetry and agreed to be its curator. The House of Poetry it was opened on the 72nd anniversary of Halina Poswiatowska’s birth and, at the same time, on the 40th anniversary of her death (celebrated on the 11th of October).
