Sailing and windsurfing

Sailing is quite popular sport in Poland, mostly because in north-eastern part of the country there is a „land of a thousand lakes” – Masuria. Many hills configurated the territory and there are around 2000 lakes, including the biggest ones in Poland – Sniardwy and Mamry.

Lots of polish people spend their holidays sailing on Masurian lakes, because this territory is well known not only for lakes, but also for beautiful, quiet and wild forests of Landscape Parks spreading through Masuria. Lakeside hotels have a big range of yachts and other boats for hire. Alternative proposition for sailing may be the estuary of the Vistula River, Szczecin Bay or Dabie Lake on the north of Poland.

Windsurfing centre of Poland is definitely Hel Peninsula, where are the best conditions to practise this sport. Another well-prepared place is Roznowskie Lake, 90 km from Krakow, close to Nowy Sacz. Three nice villages over the Lake are: Tegoborze, Grodek nad Dunajcem and Roznow.
