Bukowina Tatrzanska is a big village and summer resort in the Podhale region, 14 kilometres north-east of Zakopane, close to the border with Slovakia. It lies at a height of 800-1000 m above sea level over the Bukowinskie Range in the Spisz – Gubalowskie Foothills. It lies approximately 14 kilometres north-east of Zakopane and 80 km south of the regional capital Krakow. Bukowina Tatrzanska is famous for beautiful views of the Tatras, especially from the Glodowka clearing on the road to Lake Morskie Oko 4 kilometres from the centre of the village. Bukowina Tatrzanska has many fine villas with rooms for hire, numerous boarding houses and pensions. Tourists and holiday makers are attracted by clear air (unlike at Zakopane), about 20 ski lifts, a lot of ski runs and lit slopes.
