- Krakow & Auschwitz Tour -

A full tour starting in the morning. Travel to Krakow by second class express train with departures at 7:00 or 8:00 am. The price of the sightseeing tour depends on the number of participants and includs all transport, the service of a local guide and the entrance fees to the museum and places of historic interest.

1.The Royal Castle of Wawel. An imposing gem of mediaeval architecture that has survived through the ravages of time in almost pristine condition. The former residence of the Piast, Jagiellonian and Vasa dynasties in which you can admire a unique collection of tapestries once owned by King Sigismund August. You will also visit the Grand Audience Hall, which is also known as the 'Hall of Heads' . The wonders of Wawel Castle are included on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List.

2.The Royal Cathedral, which is one of the finest churches in Poland with its astonishing mediaeval architecture. and Sigismund's Chapel, known as the 'pearl of the Renaissance north of the Alps'. The most outstanding architectural gem of the Renaissance in Poland.

3.The Market Square and the Cloth Hall, one of the largest squares in Europe, the scene of various historic events. The tour includes a visit to the mediaeval stalls where you can buy souvenirs including amber and silver jewellery.

4.St.Florian's Gate, one of the oldest gates in Krakow. This, along with the Barbican, was the Gate of Honour through which the King and his Royal entourage would enter the town.

5.Kazimierz, the old Jewish District included on the UNESCO World Heritage Site List and The Old Synagogue, dating from the 15th Century - the oldest in Poland.

This tour is an extension to the tour of Krakow and features a visit to Auschwitz - Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration camp from World War II. At the museum, you will have the opportunity to see the shocking gas chambers, the crematorium and the death cells. Late afternoon you arrive in Krakow for the sightseeing of the Old Town area.
