Free attractions in Zakopane

Although Zakopane is known is the winter capital of Zakopane, the tourist season lasts all year long here. How can you enjoy your stay here and not go bankrupt? Here are some attractions in Zakopane that you can enjoy for free.

Wielka Krokiew
Wielka Krokiew is an obligatory place to visit for all fans of ski jumping. Thanks to the successes of Adam Małysz, Kamil Stoch and other Polish ski jumpers, the object went througfh complete modernization and is today one of the best ski jumps in the world. Wielka Krokiew in Zakopane is a ski jump, which hosts such competitions, as the Ski Jumping World Cup and the Norway Combo World Cup.

The Szymanowski Museum
The Karol Szymanowski Museum is a division of the National Museum in Kraków, located in Zakopane, at 19 Kasprusie street. The collection is gathered in the „Atma” Villa, which was built in 1895 by Józef Kaspruś-Stoch. Between 1930-1935 it was the home of Karol Szymanowski. It is the only place in the world, where you can admire things left behind this outstanding composer. We can mostly see here exhibits showing the artist’s connection with Zakopane and the Tatra Museum.

You can visit the permanent exhibit for free on Sundays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
