The bascule bridge upon Regalica
While you’re visiting Szczecin, it is definitely worth checking out the only railway bascule bridge in Poland that is still working.
The bascule bridge upon Regalica is an unconventional construction, the only mechanically propelled bascule bridge in Europe. It is commonly called the Wroclaw bridge, named after the railway connection between Szczecin and Wroclaw. Despite suffering because of the Germans during World War II, the workers managed to rebuild it and it still used by travellers today.
