Bydgoszcz: Tour to Torun

Together with Bydgoszcz, Torun is the capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship with a picturesque historical Old Town inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. It is a city famous for delicious gingerbread cookies and can boast with its original architecture of the Gothic townhouses, churches and red-brick town hall. In the silence of the medieval nooks and crannies you can feel the atmosphere of the times of Nicolaus Copernicus, who was born here. The monument of this famous astronomer located at the Old Town Square attracts many visitors every year. Join us for this tour to one of the most charming cities in our country!

Tour itinerary:

1. morning hotel pick up and transfer with our English speaking driver to the railway station in Bydgoszcz (exact time depends on train schedule)
2. receiving 2nd class return tickets for the train connection between Bydgoszcz and Torun and assistance of our driver at the platform
3. comfortable journey by train on your own (approx. 45 min.)
4. getting off the train in Torun and meeting our local, private city guide in chosen language at the platform
5. up to 2 hours of private guided walking tour of Torun Old Town during which you will see:

• Old Market Square – the heart of Torun’s historic district which is included on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List; beautiful townhouses, fantastic atmosphere and monument to Mikolaj Kopernik
• Town Hall – a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the headquarters of the authorities and usually the residence of Polish kings in the past
• Church of the Virgin Mary – originally Franciscan, in the modern period the main Protestant church of Torun, now again Catholic, you will see there a wonderful Renaissance oldest organ in Poland.
• ruins of the Teutonic Knights’ castle – area of the castle of approx. 2.2 ha is one of the three parts of Torun’s Medieval City Complex
• Crooked Tower – one of the greatest attractions in Torun, a part of the town’s old fortifications system

6.approx 3 hours of free time to discover the city by yourself and for a lunch break (on your request we can make it shorter or longer – depends on the train connections)
7.reaching the railway station in Troun on your own after free time
8.around 45 min. return journey by train from Torun to Bydgoszcz
9.pick up at the platform of the railway station in Bydgoszcz by our English speaking driver and transfer to your hotel in Bydgoszcz
