Katowice: Gliwice Tour
We offer you a half day tour from Katowice to Gliwice – one of the most interesting cities to visit in Upper Silesia region. Gliwice had never belonged to Poland before the World War 2 and it was here where actually the World War 2 started. On 31st August 1939 a group of Germans dressed in Polish uniforms attacked a German radio station in Gliwice and this provocation served the German Nazis as a pretext for starting World War 2. Some of the buildings of radio station were transformed into Museum which we will visit during our tour. Afterwards we will drive to the Old Town of Gliwice which has retained its medieval street layout and fragments of 15th-16th c. defence walls. You will have a chance to admire Main Market Square with Town Hall, Piast’s Castle – one of the oldest monuments in Gliwice, Church of All Saints and many other interesting sites.
