Tour itinerary:

  1. your hotel pick up at chosen time
  2. short drive to Kosciuszko’s Mound – built in 19th century in tribute to Tadeusz Kosciuszko, military leader who became a national hero in Poland. We will get to its summit where you will not only learn a bit about history of Poland from numerous exhibitions but also admire the most beautiful panoramic view over the city of Krakow
  3. short drive from Kosciuszko Mound to Lagiewniki to see Sanctuary of the Divine Mercy – one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in Poland, established by Pope John Paul II in 2002.
  4. short drive from Lagiewniki to Plaszow district to see Monument to the Victims of Fascism – large limestone bust presenting five people with expressionless faces constructed in 1964 in the area of former German Nazi forced labour camp
  5. short drive from Plaszow to Podgorze district where we will see:
  • Podgorze Market Square – it was a main square when Podgorze was an independent city until 1915. Location was not random as it was an intersection of roads leading to Krakow, Kalwaria and Wieliczka.
  • remains of Jewish Ghetto Walls in the shape of Jewish tombstones
  • Ghetto Heroes Square with very unique monument of 70 lonely chairs – place of concentration of the Jewish people before transporting them to concentration camps.

  • Szeroka street – (former main square of independent city of Kazimierz) with beautiful tenements and numerous restaurants and cafes
  • house of Helena Rubinstein – Jewish businesswoman who was born in Krakow, founder of famous cosmetics brand and one of the richest women in history
  • monument to Krakow Victims of the Holocaust – constructed in honor to Jews who were killed during World War 2
  • Remuh Synagogue – still used for regular religious worship
  • Old Synagogue – one of the oldest Jewish prayer houses in whole Poland
  • New Square – former market square, now famous for bars selling local hot snacks
  • Corpus Christi Basilica – Gothic church founded by King Kazimierz III Wielki in 1335
  • Tempel Synagogue – home to Jewish cultural events and concerts but also a prayer house and seat of Jewish Community Centre

9. up to 2,5 hours of guided Old Town walk to see the symbols of Krakow:

  • Wawel Royal Castle with the Cathedral – located by the Vistula river, the castle is a sacred place where all Polish kings were buried
  • Kanonicza Street – the oldest street in Krakow and one of the most beautiful ones
  • Collegium Maius and Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University – the oldest university in Poland where studied for example Pope John Paul II and Nicolaus Copernicus – great mathematician and astronomer.
  • Main Market Square – one of the largest main squares in Europe with amazing Town Hall Tower
  • Cloth Hall – one of the most recognizable buildings in Krakow located in the middle of the Market Square
  • St. Mary’s Basilica – probably the most famous and beautiful church in Krakow
  • Florianska Street – part of the Royal Route in Krakow, its name has not changed for over 700 years
  • Florianska Gate and Barbican with medieval defensive walls
  • Slowacki Theatre – one of the most representative buildings in Krakow
