Krakow: Pszczyna Palace Tour

If you would like to go back to the 17th century and feel like a French aristocrat, we can take you to a magnificent place – to the Palace in Pszczyna which is in the Silesia region, not so far from Krakow. It is one of the pearls in Poland which you just must see.

At the begining of its existence, this object had the function of a Gothic defensive castle, you can see the remains from the 13th century in the basements while visiting the residence. Nowadays, it does not remind a castle at all thanks to the rich decoration and eclectic interiors. The most known family which lived here were the Hochberg von Pless from Ksiaz. What’s more, a British aristocrat – Princess Daisy was the wife of Hans Heinrich XV Hochberg – the most richest German magnate living in the residence at that time. Princess Daisy from Whales was known as a very beautiful and good woman and today is the symbol of the city of Pszczyna.
An interesting fact is also that the residence was the center of the German troops. Wilhelm II – the Prussian emperor – regularly visited Pszczyna for a few days where he could hunt in the local forests since he was known as a Grand Hunter.

Pszczyna had luck during World War II, it was not destroyed at all comparing other objects in Poland at this time. During the tour you will have the chance to admire the equipment which is exactly in the same condition in which it was left by its last owners. That is why Pszczyna is so charming and is unique on a national scale.

Once you start visiting the residence, you will explore the wealthy interiors, apartments of Emperor Wilhelm II, the Gothic basements with temporary exhibitions and the armory.
