Lublin: Kazimierz Dolny & Sandomierz Tour

We present our offer of a full day tour from Lublin to some of the most beautiful, little Polish, towns – Kazimierz Dolny by Vistula River and Sandomierz. The first one is sometimes called the “pearl of the Polish Renaissance” where you can feel like the time had stopped. This beautifully situated town is full of many significant historical buildings and is known as one of the most important art centres on the map of Poland. After visiting Kazimierz Dolny, we will take you to Sandomierz – one of the oldest and historically most significant cities in our country. Its origins date back to the 12th century. Excellent location at the junction of Vistula and San rivers guaranteed the development of the city as an important trade center. Today Sandomierz is one of the main destinations for tourists visiting this region.

Tour itinerary:

1. hotel pick up at chosen time,
2. approx. 1 hour drive from Lublin to Kazimierz Dolny by private car/van accompanied by private guide in chosen language,
3. up to 2 hours of walking sightseeing tour of Kazimierz Dolny with private guide during which you will be able to see:

• Parish church of St. Bartholomew and John the Baptist, the oldest sanctuary in Kazimierz Dolny, great example of Renaissance architecture,
• St. Anne church, built in the Lublin Renaissance style; walls are made of limestone and brick,
• ruins of the castle, built in 14th century by King Casimir the Great; originally, a defensive structure with residential buildings,
• defensive tower, visible from every place in Kazimierz Dolny, a stone tower from the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries standing on the top of the castle hill,
• Hill of Three Crosses, one of the most important tourist attractions and a great viewpoint,
• numerous tenement houses, main examples: two Renaissance tenement houses of the brothers Mikolaj and Krzysztof Przybyla built in the early 17th century, also the so-called Celejowska Tenement House (currently serving as a museum),
• several historic granaries, places where traders kept their grain and corn, richly decorated
• building of the former synagogue, currently not used for religious services.

• Sandomierz Main Market Square, main square of the city, welcomes tourists with beautiful tenement houses and a friendly atmosphere,
• Sandomierz Town Hall, built in the 14th century, the oldest building on the Main Market Square,
• Bishop’s Palace, built in 1864, a rectangular, one-story building decorated with a small upper attic,
• Church of the Holy Spirit, originally a Gothic church from the 15th century, rebuilt in the Baroque style,
• Opatowska Gate, Gothic entrance to the city founded by King Casimir the Great,
• Royal Castle, brick and stone castle was built in the 14th century, later transformed into a Renaissance residence,
• Jan Dlugosz House, built by master John of Krakow in 1476 in the late Gothic style
• Cathedral Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a Gothic cathedral constructed in 1360, later renovated in the Baroque style; it received the rank of cathedral in 1818,
• Sandomierz Synagogue, inactive synagogue built in 1768 of brick in the Polish Baroque style,
