Lublin: Poleski National Park Tour

Want to see Lublin province from the new perspective or need to relax? We present a half day tour to the Poleski National Park, one of the three water – bog natural parks in Poland which was established in 1990. Since 2002 Poleski National Park has been a part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. The ecosystems of swamps and peat-bogs dominate the park’s landscape. They are considered very delicate and unique. We highly recommend the 7,5 km length educational trail Splawy which is a perfect choice for nature lovers. During the tour you will have a chance to admire the richness of fauna and flora in Poleski National Park.

Tour itinerary:

1. hotel pick up at chosen time,
2. approx. 1 hour drive from Lublin to the Poleski National Park by private car/van accompanied by English speaking driver,
3. up to 3 hours of self guided tour around Poleski National Park – educational trail Splawy. On the 7,5 km long trail you will have a chance to see:

• numerous marsh horsetails, a plant species, it is widespread in cooler regions of North America and Eurasia,
• numerous species of trees and plant formations as bog birch trees, tuft-valley alder, sedge meadows,
• Lukie Lake – the biggest lake of the Poleski National Park, relatively shallow, surrounded by reeds, rushes and wet meadows,
• a floating pier on Lukie Lake, an ideal vantage point,
• Splawy Marsh, a fen and transitional bog complex with birch and willow scrub; flooded during spring and autumn,
• the so-called heir’s causeway, where you can admire the picturesque alder swamp forest; attractive especially in early spring,
• animal species possible to meet: moose, crane, beaver, white-tailed eagle, mute swan, pond turtle, marsh harrier, coot, coot, great egret
• almost 4.5 km of wooden footbridges,
