It is picturesquely located by the river Brda, Vistula and the Bydgoszcz Canal. The Brda River flows through the very center of the city which is full of worth seeing attractions. Bydgoszcz is also known for its fantastic atmosphere since it is usually not overcrowded but at the same time it offers a number of diverse and unique things to do and see. Tour itinerary:

  • pick up from your hotel at chosen time
  • approx. 1 hour drive from Torun to Bydgoszcz by private car/van with our English speaking driver
  • meeting with the local guide in chosen language in the city center of Bydgoszcz
  • private guided walking tour of the Old Town of Bydgoszcz for up to 2,5 hours which includes all the important sites of this district of the city:
  • the Monument to the Struggle and Martyrdom of the Bydgoszcz Region – erected in 1969; it memorializes the victims of German terror from Bydgoszcz who were shot here during the beginning of the World War II
  • st. Martin and st. Nicholas Cathedral – the oldest church in Bydgoszcz; it is the most valuable monument of Old Polish architecture in Bydgoszcz and perfectly fits the riverside atmosphere of the city
  • the Town Hall – a Gothic-Renaissance building built for the seat of the authorities of Bydgoszcz, standing in the middle of the Old Market Square; in the past it was one of the most representative secular buildings
  • a free-standing statue of St. John of Nepomuk – the oldest sculpture in Bydgoszcz, we will find it near the cathedral; He was a saint who was supposed to protect the city against flooding
  • the Jaz Farny – the function of the weir is to pass the Mlynowka waters to the Brda River; it is the only white kayaking track in Poland and Europe built in the very center of the city
  • the Main Post Office – it is housed in a complex of historic buildings from the 18th century.
  • the monumental building of the Nova Opera – one of the most modern and versatile musical theaters in Poland
  • the sculpture of the Rafter (designed by Michal Kubiak) – situated on the Brda boulevard; it is a reference to the city’s boating traditions
  • Bialy Spichlerz – the oldest building on the Bydgoszcz island, from the end of the 18th century
  • Old Market Square with the 18th meridian – a local curiosity connecting Bydgoszcz with Stockholm and Cape Town showing the local time (of Bydgoszcz) on the clock
  • Mlynska Island – usually called the “city lungs” with a place for relaxation, sunbathing with a great view of the Brda River
  • charming “Bydgoszcz Venice” with lots of bridges, restaurants and old trees
  • Dluga Street – the longest street within the former city walls
  • the monument of King Kazimierz Wielki – an impressive sculpture of Kazimierz Wielki which is known to be the “godfather” of the city
  • 1 hour of free time for lunch or further discovering of the city on your own
  • approx. 1 hour drive back from Bydgoszcz to Torun
  • drop off at your hotel in Torun
