Zakopane

The „Orlinek” ski jump – an excellent attraction for fans of ski jumping. This is the place, where Adam Malysz set a new record for ski jumps at the distance of 94.5 meters in 2004. The ski jump was constructed in 1912, and its first record jump was made at a distance of 38.5 meters. In 2000, the ski jump was modernized for the needs of Junior World Ski Jumping Championship.

A sleigh ride – Not many young people has a chance to take part in a genuine sleigh ride with real horses. But Karpacz gives them a chance to catch up. Thia is a great winter attractions for families with children, as well as a romantic trip with your other half.

Hiking – Karpacz is also a great place to begin a hiking trip. From here you can follow one of the local hiking trails, such as the Main Sudety Trail, the trail to the Okraj Notch and the trail to Sosnowka.

Bieszczady

There are many myths about Bieszczady in the wintertime. Gossips say that snow separates local people from the world for many days and bears walk around the streets. But none of these tales are true! However, that doesn’t change the fact, that Bieszczady does change its look in the winter.

Krynica-Zdroj

Krynica-Zdroj is a small, charming town in the malopolskie region. It is a popular tourist destination in both summer and winter. In fact, Krynica-Zdroj is one of the most popular places to visit in winter. It is also the birthplace of Polish luge-riding.

Apart from admiring the snowy landscapes you can also marvel at the local castles, which gain a totally different perspective in the winter. They are so beautiful and breathtaking that you have to see them for yourselves to believe it. Szczyrk

Szczyrk is one of the most well-known places associated with mountain sports in Poland. In the winter, it is densely occupied by fans of winter sports, mostly skiers. While visiting this town in winter, you should definitely take a ride in a cableway to Skrzyczne – the highest peak of Beskid Slaski.

Szklarska Poreba

Szklarska Poreba is considered a perfect destination for a winter break. This is an excellent place for skiing and as a starting point for hiking in the mountains. You can also take a ride on the „Szrenica” cableway and try skiing on one of many skiing routes.

Bialka Tatrzanska

Bialka Tatrzanska is a village located roughly 20 kilometers away from Zakopane. It is an excellent place for skiers, especially those, who are only beginning their adventure with this sport. Most of the ski lifts are connected with one pass known as „Tatry Ski”. Other winter attractions in this town include:

Terma Bania – a complex with indoor and outdoor swimming pools with thermal, mineral water. It is a great place to relax after having fun in the snow. Watching the falling snow while soaking in hot water gives you an interesting, but pleasant feeling.

The Ice Castle – this attraction is part of the Terma Bania complex, although it does require a small additional feel. It is an amazing attraction of small kids, but grown-ups can enjoy it too, thanks to the paintings carved in the castle’s walls.

The snow maze – another delightful attraction for the whole family. You might have trouble with getting lost, but once you get through the maze, you can find a small hill, where kids can have fun riding a sled.

Duszniki-Zdroj

Duszniki-Zdroj allows you to feel the magic of winter in many different ways. One of the most popular places in Duszniki-Zdroj in winter is Zieleniec – a famous ski station, which has a unique climate, similar to that in the Alps. If you’re not a big fan of skiing, you can go hiking in the Bystrzyckie Mountains, which are a strongly underrated mountain massif. In the winter time, these muontains look absolutely gorgeous. You can also visit the „Pod Muflonem” mountain shelter, which has a long an interesting history. The first inn in this area was created way back in the 19th century. Not far from the current mountain shelter there is a 70-year old toboggan run, which goes all the way down to Duszniki.
