Ice sailing

In summer Masurian Lakes, Polish „land of thousand lakes” and paradise for sailors, are full of people. Not too many people know that sailing on them is possible also in the winter. Thanks to that sailors who are really addicted to this sport can find something interesting for themselves.

What is more, special iceboats used in this sport can be faster, they easily achieve bigger speed than usual boats.

Lake Mamry, one of the biggest in Poland, is perfect for ice sailing, because it is one of the coldest lakes and in the winter it is completely frozen. Since inter-war years international ice sailing competitions are organized here.
