Town Hall in Rzeszow

The most impressive building in the Market Hall is standing alone in a corner of the western frontage. The beginnings of his rise back to the late sixteenth century, and it was built probably before 1591, but on the walls of an earlier building. It can be concluded that the Town Hall was originally quite different. Building was transformed in the eighteenth century in classical style and in such form survived until the mid-nineteenth century. 

Adaptation of the City Hall building for the City Council was taken in the years 1867 and 1884, then in the years 1897-1898 was carried out and overhauling its expansion. In the course of the modernization of the Town Hall was then fashionable pseudo decor. The summit is decorated with a clock, and it was placed over the eagle made of gilded copper sheets. During the last war eagle, removed from the order of the occupier, has been stored in the autumn of 1944, returned to its former place. The last overhaul was carried out evenly in Rzeszow Town Hall 100 years after the previous – it was completed in 1996 trying to restore the property to nineteenth-century appearance and decor.
