Wisla lies in the Beskid Slaski in the valley of the Vistula and its two source rivulets: Biala and Czarna Wiselka. Wisla is a beautiful place in the Silesia country, not far from the Czech and Slovakia border . It is a large holiday and ski resort and a cultural centre of Cieszyn Silesia. The highlander village known from the 17th c. became a popular tourist resort at the end of the 19th c. The majority of Wisla inhabitants are Evangelical. Wisla is a centre of folk traditions of the Beskid highlanders. The Beskid Culture Week is organized here every year. The town centre lies at a height of 431 m above sea level and the highest point, the peak of Barania Mountain has 1,221 m.. Tourists that come to Wisla have more than 100 kilometres of tourist trails to their disposition. In the summer those are the trails with different scale of difficulty for pedestrians and mountain bikers. In the winter Wisla has beautiful routes for Nordic and downhill skiers, more than 20 ski lift (with most of the routes lighted). On the city area there are 5 ski jumps. During the summer Wisla guests have an outdoor pool to their disposition, as well as indoor pools, tennis courts and sport fields (Sport Centre Jonidlo, Sport Centre Start).
