Every year, many people come to Poland to discover its ancient monuments or admire the stunning nature in the mountains and national parks. In Poland, there are located numerous places which can offer unique location, landscape values, various cultural attractions, but also which can be proud of fresh air, medicinal waters and other healing attributes. Polish health resorts are spread around whole Poland. Most of them are located in the south part of Poland (mostly in the Lower Silesia region and the Lesser Poland region), on the mountain areas. The most popular health resorts are: Ciechocinek, Duszniki-Zdrój, Krynica-Zdrój, Szczawnica, Sopot, Nałęczów, and more. Krynica-Zdroj

Krynica-Zdroj is a town located in the malopolskie region, in the eastern part of Jaworzyna Krynicka, upon the Kryniczanka stream.

Ciechocinek

Ciechocinek is a famous place and a symbol of sanatorium vacation. For nearly 200 years, it has been associated with healing brines more than any other sanatorium in Poland. It also appeared in various pieces of popular culture. The gentle climate of Ciechocinek is characterized with a high average temperature, and relatively large insolation.

In 1830, the first brewhouse was created in Ciechocinek, and several years later the local brines were used for medical purposes. While staying in Ciechocinek, yuo should definitely check out some of the local attractions, suxh as the famous health park and the neo-gothic church from the 1890s.

Ladek-Zdroj

Ladek-Zdroj is the oldest health-spa in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe. It is located in the dolnoslaskie region, not far from the Bialskie Mountains and the Snieznik Massif. For many years, the Ladek-Zdroj health spa has attracted patients and tourists not only with the gorgeous mountain landscape and green forests, but also with the properties of the local healing waters. There are 7 springs of healing waters in this area, and the waters are slightly mineralized and hypothermic. Some of the treatments are provided with the use of peloid.

Swieradow-Zdroj

The Swieradow-Zdroj health-spa is located at the foothills of the Izerskie Mountains. It is one of the most popular resorts in Poland. Swieradow-Zdroj is a typical tourist town, and thanks to the typical mountain climate it is a perfect place for relaxing and recreation.

Iwonicz-Zdroj

Polanica-Zdroj

The Polanica-Zdroj health spa is located in the dolnoslaskie region, not far from the Stolowe Mountains and the Bystrzyckie Mountains. It specializes in treating cardiological and rheumatological diseases, as well as digestive system illnesses. Polanica-Zdroj also has many attractions, including religious monuments such as the chapel of st. Anthony from the mid-18th century and a neo-baroque church constructed in the early 20th century. There is also a health spa park, which attracts visitors with impressive flower carpets.

Rabka-Zdroj

Rabka-Zdroj is a health spa town located in the malopolskie region, at the border between two mountain ranges – Gorce and Beskid Wyspowy. It is the only health spa in Poland, where most of the patients are children. It specializes in treating many health problems, including respiratory diseases, skin diseases and diabetes. Rabka-Zdroj also has many interesting attractions, including religious monuments, such as the wooden church of st. Maria Magdalena and the church of st. Teresa. It also has some atractions for children, including the „Rabkoland” amusement park and the „Rabcio” theatre.

Szczawnica

Szczawnica is a town famous for its microclimate and beautiful location. It is situated nearby the mouth of the river Dunajec. For more than 200 years, Szczawnica has become famous as a health spa. It gained its name to the sour mineral water known as Szczawa. In Szczawnica, patients can take part in many health treatments, such as drinking healing waters, inhalations and cryotherapy.

This town also offers many attractions, such as cycling routes, kayking trips aat the Dunajec river and excellent places for hiking, such as the Homole Ravine.
