Katowice: Krakow Tour

Krakow is so close to Katowice that it is absolutely necessary to join our trip and participate in the full day excursion to one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Krakow is famous for its impressive Market Square which is the biggest in the country and noted on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List. Luckily, the Old Town was not destroyed during World War II, so you will have the chance to admire the impressive, original architecture with many significant historical monuments. Our guide will show you the most important tourist attractions, you will have time to explore the city on your own, discover its secrets, stroll along the charming streets and take a break for lunch or coffee in one of the lovely cafes. We guarantee that the trip to Krakow will be a memorable experience and you will want to come back again as soon as you only have the opportunity.

Tour itinerary:

  1. hotel pick up at chosen time
  2. up to 1,5 hour drive from Katowice to Krakow by private car/van with English speaking driver
  3. meeting our local, private city guide in chosen language after arriving in Krakow and up to 3 hours private walking tour around Old Town during which you will see:
  • Slowacki Theatre – an example of eclectic architecture from the 19th-century, considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Krakow
  • Barbican – historical gateway to the medieval part of Krakow and the defensive walls
  • Florianska Gate – the main city gate and beginning of the Royal Route
  • Florianska Street – one of the most famous promenades full of restaurants, coffee houses and souvenir shops
  • St. Mary’s Basilica- established in the 14th century, an examples of Polish Gothic architecture and one of the most famous churches in Poland
  • Main Market Square – the largest medieval market square in Europe
  • Cloth Hall (Sukiennice)- a large market hall erected in the 13th century and one of Krakow’s symbols
  • Town Hall Tower – 70 metres high remaining part of the former Town Hall, situated in the middle of the Main Square
  • All Saints Square with the Pope’s Window – the residence of Pope John Paul II during his visits to Krakow with the symbolic, famous window
  • Collegium Maius and Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University – the most representative buildings of one of the oldest universities in Europe
  • St. Peter and St. Pauls’ Church on Grodzka Street – a Roman Catholic church built between 1597–1619 by Giovanni Maria Bernardoni,
  • Kanonicza Street – the oldest street and at the same time the most picturesque one in the Old Town area
  • Wawel Royal Castle with the Cathedral – an undeniable symbol of Krakow, seat of Polish Kings for many centuries and one of the most important monuments in Poland of great historical values

    This day trip to Krakow was well-organized and highly enjoyable. The Old Town is gorgeous, and the guide provided detailed insights into its historical significance. Walking through Kazimierz, the former Jewish Quarter, added a meaningful cultural layer to the experience. My only suggestion would be to add more free time for independent exploration, but overall, it was a wonderful tour. A great choice for visitors in Katowice!

    This tour was a fantastic way to experience Krakow’s beauty and history! The Old Town, with its charming cobblestone streets and stunning architecture, was an absolute highlight. Our guide was excellent, sharing stories about Wawel Castle, St. Mary’s Basilica, and the rich history of the Market Square. The trip from Katowice was seamless, and the tour was well-paced, with enough time to explore and take in the sights. A must-do day trip!
