Lwówek Switzerland – Lwówek Rocks

Lwówek Switzerland (Szwajcaria Lwówecka) is a group of several sandy rocks bastions located in the town of Lwówek Śląski, with a gorgeous view of the surroundings. Interesting rocky formations, a convenient path and a forest surrounding make this place an interesting idea for a short weekend trip.

Lwówek Switzerland is a very small, but incredibly interesting place. The Lwówek Rocks are located at the height of approximately 250 meters above the sea level, in the Bóbr Valley Landscape Park. It’s a few sandy rocks consisting of red Trias sandstones and grey chalk sandstones.

We begin our journet practically directly from the parking, to the left of which we can find a path, which climbs through rocky stairs up to the foothills of the first rocks. The character of these rocks might remind you of the rocks that you can find in the Stołowe Mountains and Szczeliniec Wielki.

When we go a bit further into the forest, we will find the yellow trail, leading strongly up. If we follow that trail, we will get to the top of the rocky bastions. It is worth getting all the way to the end of the trail, because from every place we can see a slightly different view at Lwówek Śląski and its surroundings.

Lwówek Switzerland – Practical Information
Lwówek Rocks (Lwówek Switzerland) are located at the departure from Lwówek Śląski to Jelenia Góra. By the road itself there is a free parking for several cars, a few benches and information boards abiut this place.

If you don’t want to follow the yellow trail, there is another option – you can continue your way on a gentlle educational path and still get to the top of the rocks.
