Zakopane is one of the best-known and most visited places in Poland. The city gained its position as the country’s winter capital between the world wars, mostly thanks to the development of ski tourism. During our tour you will get a chance to experience true culture of Polish highlands and amazing views of Tatra Mountains that surround the city.

Tour Itinerary

  • 7:30 a.m. pick up from your hotel
  • approximately 2,5 hours journey from Krakow to Zakopane
  • stop nearby the Great Krokiew – famous ski jumping hill where each winter season important ski jumping events take place
  • up to 5 hours of free time for exploring city centre by yourself – please read below what we recommend to see
  • driving back to Krakow by the same vehicle with the same English speaking driver/tour-leader

What to see in Zakopane

During your free time in Zakopane we recommend having a walk along the most famous street of this Polish winter resort – Krupowki. You will have a chance to admire here local highlanders’ architecture, taste delicious traditional regional smoked cheese called Oscypek and have lunch in one of many restaurants serving local cuisine. You will also have enough time to take a delightful funicular ride up to Gubalowka Mountain which is a great view point towards Tatra Mountains including famous for its shape Mountain called Giewont with the cross on its top. Another option may be visiting regional Museum with ethnographic exhibitions.
