Bison Safari & Wolf tracking

Experience three nights in the primeval Bialowieza Forest, seeking out European Bison and tracking wolves. Our skilled guides will lead you through this UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering insights into the habitat and conservation of Europe’s largest land mammal and the elusive wolf. You’ll stay in a cozy guesthouse in Bialowieza village, embarking on forest walks and safari drives to explore diverse habitats and possibly spot rare birds and mammals, including Pygmy Owls, wolves, and lynx, making for a memorable wilderness adventure.

Tour itinerary:

Day 1 – transfer from Warsaw to Bialowieza Forest

By 13:00, we’ll collect you from Warsaw Airport or your hotel in Warsaw and head to Bialowieza Forest, a 4-hour drive away. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into a welcoming guesthouse in Bialowieza village. Post a traditional Polish meal, our guide will outline the upcoming activities. Time permitting, an introductory evening stroll on the first day will help you familiarize with the surroundings, possibly observing wildlife or hearing wolves.

Day 2 – Bison Safari and Strict Reserve of Bialowieza National Park

We’ll start our day early, seeking out the wild European Bison to bring you up close with these noble creatures. With a population of over 500 in the wild, our guided tours in minibuses and on foot through various lookout points offer a unique safari experience. Particularly in autumn, winter, and early spring, our encounters with these animals are most memorable. Later, a guided walk in the strictly protected Bialowieza National Park offers a journey back in time through ancient forests, highlighting its UNESCO significance and diverse birdlife, including rare woodpecker species.

Day 3 – Wolf tracking in Bialowieza Forest

We’ll venture deep into wolf territories, where four packs roam, guided by local experts familiar with their movements. Trekking at the boundaries, we often encounter signs of wolves, including footprints and remnants of prey. While spotting wolves is rare, some groups do have the fortune during the optimal seasons of late autumn to early spring, and hearing their howls is truly memorable. Our journey may cover various habitats, providing sightings of diverse species, including rare birds, mammals like bison and red deer, enhancing the wildlife experience.

Day 4 – Transfer to Warsaw, lunch in the Old Town area

Following a hearty breakfast, we’ll embark on a roughly 4-hour return trip to Warsaw, aiming for a midday arrival. We’ll explore the Old Town and enjoy a traditional Polish lunch at a quaint restaurant. The journey concludes upon our arrival in Warsaw, with participants responsible for their accommodation and flight arrangements. Around 16:00, we’ll provide transfers to the Warsaw airport or a local hotel for those extending their stay.
