Gdynia: Malbork Castle & Gdansk Tour

We offer a tour from Gdynia to the magnificent Teutonic Castle in Malbork. We will admire the world’s largest brick castle built in the 13th century and discover its history during a sightseeing tour with an audio-guide. On our way back, we will make a stop in Gdansk’s historic Old Town, providing an opportunity for you to delve into the city’s abundant heritage and architecture. This excursion offers a mix of solemn history and cultural exploration, all achievable within a single day’s journey.

We offer private tours to Malbork Castle and Gdansk from Gdynia port or hotel on request

Tour itinerary:

  1. Pick-up directly from the gate of the port or hotel at chosen time
  2. approx 1,5 hour drive from Gdynia to Malbork Castle by private car/van with English speaking driver
  3. entrance to the castle with an audio-guide in the chosen language (English, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, French, Polish)
  4. visiting the castle for approx 1,5 hour on so-called “green route” (without a tour of the chambers and exhibitions) during which you will see:
  • part of the Forecastle
  • gate crossings
  • courtyards of the Middle and High Castles
  • chapel of St. Anna
  • terraces with the garden of the Great Masters
  • moats
  • Castle’s between-walls area
  1. up to 1,5 hour drive from Malbork Castle to Gdansk
  2. free time for lunch in one of numerous restaurants in Old Town area
  3. private guided walking tour around Old Town of Gdansk with local city guide for up to 2 hours during which you will see:
  • The magnificent Long Market – the vibrant heart of the city, adorned with renowned landmarks such as the Gothic-style Town Hall, the grand Artus Court, the famous Neptune’s Fountain from the 17th century, a symbol of Gdansk, and The Golden Tenement House – known as the city’s most decorative building, notable for its intricate facade.
  • The Green Gate – accompanying the Golden and Highland Gates, it spans the Long Market and Long Street, an essential part of the Royal Route. Inspired by Antwerp City Hall, it was originally intended as accommodation for Polish monarchs but was never used as such.
  • Zuraw – a striking Crane near the Motlawa River, a prominent attribute of Gdansk, acknowledged as the biggest medieval port crane in Europe, also serving as a gatehouse with two solid brick towers.
  • St Mary’s Church – one of the world’s largest churches made of brick, it stands as a significant historical monument.
  • The Great Armory building – an example of Dutch Renaissance style in Polish architecture, carefully reconstructed post-World War II, reflecting its past splendor.
  • Dluga Street (Long Lane) – part of the Royal Route, characterized by quintessential Gdansk architecture with slender facades crowned by gables or attics, lavishly decorated with heraldic icons, figures, and mythological representations.
  • The Golden Gate – built in the 17th century, located at the termination of Long Lane, formerly a component of the city’s fortifications.
  • The Highland Gate – founded in 1588, signifies the western entry to the City of Gdansk and the commencement of the Royal Route.
