Wroclaw: Adrspach – The Chronicles of Narnia Tour

The rock town of Adrspach is located in Czechia, very close to the Polish border, approx. 100 km from Wroclaw. It is an attraction on a global scale, famous for the incredible rock formations – probably one of the most impressive in Europe. It is one of filming locations of the popular movie The Chronicles of Narnia. It should not surprise you – after entering the town, you can feel like in a fairytale. This place just seems to be unreal. Numerous rock formations have different shapes and sizes. Combined with lush vegetation, turquoise lake, the gorge of the Metuji River and few waterfalls, they create a unique landscape, very mysterious and photogenic. Well, it is hard to find words to describe the beauty of nature in the rock city of Adrspach. You just have to experience it on your own.

Tour itinerary:

  1. hotel pick up at chosen time
  2. approx. 2 hours and 15 min ride from Wroclaw to Adrspach in Czechia,
  3. up to 3 hours self guided visit in the rock town of Adrspach

On the 3,5 km easy hiking trail (marked with green color, with numerous signposts and information), you will be able to see:

  • Piskovna Lake, the first sight you see upon entering, the turquoise water brings to mind lakes of Alaska or Canada,
  • Dzban, a huge rock tower which was first climbed by Josef Janeba, Miroslav Jedlicka and pioneer of climbing Rudolf Otto Baus in May 1935,
  • Sugar Loaf, widely known as one of the strangest rock formations in Adrspach; the height of the rock is 52 meters, it weighs about 40,000 kilograms,
  • bridge over the Metuji river which flows through the entire rock town,
  • canyon of the Metuje River, which falls into a rock town by a waterfall, the river is 71km long,
  • Gothic gate, built in 1839 by Ludvik Karel Nadherny together with hiking trails, bridges, stairs and footbridges,
  • Elephant Square, a small square surrounded by spectacular rock formations,
  • Tooth, a tall and narrow tower resembling a human tooth,
  • Devil’s Bridge, a 21 meters high arch,
  • bust of Johann Wolfgang Goethe, commemorating his visit in 1790,
  • large waterfall, a height of sixteen meters,
  • Lovers – most famous rock formation in the Adrspach, it is also recognized as the highest one,
  • numerous viewpoints and large panorama

*It is also possible to join a short boat trip on a rocky lake during your visit. Availability depends on the number of visitors.

Joining the boat trip means additional cost – around 10 PLN per person.

4. approx. 1 hour of free time – perfect moment for lunch or coffee,
5. approx. 2 hours and 15 min drive back from Adrspach to Wroclaw

**Inside the park itself there is no real place to buy food or drinks. Please remember to take some water and snacks with you. There are food stalls by the entrance gates, you can visit them after the visit and before leaving to Wroclaw or we can stop somewhere on the way back
