Poznan: Tour to Gdansk

Once you had the chance to visit Poznan, we would recommend exploring one of the finest cities in Poland and Europe – Gdansk, located by the Baltic Sea. Together with our professional guide you will discover the most significant monuments – the Old Market Square, area around the Long Market and Long Street which create the Royal Route. Tour itinerary:

  1. early morning hotel pick up and transfer with our English speaking driver to the railway station in Poznan (exact time depends on train schedule)
  2. receiving 2nd class return tickets for economic standard fast train connection between Poznan and Gdansk and assistance of our driver at the platform
  3. comfortable journey by train on your own (up to 3,5 hours)
  4. getting off the train in Gdansk and meeting our local, private city guide at the platform
  5. up to 3 hours of guided Old Town walk with our private guide in chosen language during which you will see:
  • Long Seaside – promenade along the west bank of the river Motlawa full of restaurants, cafes etc
  • Green Gate – one of the oldest city gates, part of the Royal Route
  • Chlebnicka Gate and St. Mary’s Gate – other valuable city gates out of nearly 30 which you can find in Gdansk
  • Szeroka street – used to be the main street of the city
  • numerous narrow streets and beautiful merchant houses,
  • Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – remarkable work of Gothic brick architecture considered to be one of largest brick temples in the world
  • Great Armory at the end of Piwna Street – represents the architecture of Dutch Mannerism
  • Golden Gate – built in the combination of two different architecture styles – Italian and Dutch
  • Prison Tower and Torture Chamber – in the past it was part of the defensive walls, today it hosts the Amber Museum
  • Long Street – the lively part of Royal Route
  • Long Market – the main part of the city where the most representative historic buildings are gathered – the Gothic Town Hall and the beautiful Artus Court
  • the Neptune’s Fountain built in 17th century – the most popular fountain in the city
  • the Crane by Motlawa River – one of the most recognizable symbols of Gdansk
  • High Gate – in the past it was the main entrance gate to the city, starting point of the Royal Route in Gdansk

6. approx 4 hours of free time to discover the city by yourself and having lunch break (on your request we can make it shorter or longer – depends on the train connections
7. reaching railway station in Gdansk on your own
8. up to 3,5 hours journey back by train from Gdansk to Poznan
9. pick up from the platform of railway station in Poznan by our English speaking driver and transfer back to your hotel in Poznan
