Tour itinerary:
- early morning hotel pick up and transfer with our English speaking driver to the railway station in Poznan (exact time depends on train schedule),
- receiving 2nd class return tickets for economic standard fast train connection between Poznan and Wroclaw and assistance of our driver at the platform,
- comfortable journey by train on your own (approx. 2,5 hours),
- getting off the train in Wroclaw and meeting our local, private city guide in chosen language at the platform,
- up to 3 hours of guided walking tour around Old Town of Wroclaw with our private guide during which you will see:
- Old Market Square – the second-largest market in Poland after the one in Krakow
- Town Hall – a significant example of Gothic architecture in central Europe
- Salt Market – today known also as the Flower Market; at this place salt from the biggest Polish mines and other goods were traded since the Middle Ages until the 19th century
- St. Elizabeth’s Church – the highest church in Wroclaw
- Stare Jatki lane – here you will find the Memorial to Slaughtered Animals
- Tenement houses “Jas” & “Malgosia” / ‘Hansel & Gretel’ – two narrow buildings connecting two streets at the northwest corner of the Market Square which remind a couple holding hands
- City prison on Wiezienna Street – one of the oldest buildings in Wroclaw
- Main building of the University of Wroclaw – represents the Baroque style; one of the most symbolic buildings in the city
- University Church of the Blessed Name of Jesus – this Late Baroque church has been ranked among the most beautiful ones in Central Europe
- Ossolineum Palace – today one of the most outstanding works of Baroque architecture where you can find important libraries and national archives
- Nankier Square – here you will find the Hochberg’s Chapel – a pearl of the Baroque architecture
- Market Hall – an indoor marketplace with a wide variety of fresh products, dairy, etc.
- Sand Island – considered to be one of the most prettiest islands in Wroclaw (out of 12 in total); it is architecturally interesting with the three churches: the imposing Church of Our Lady on the Sand, the Gothic St. Anna’s Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church of St. Cyril and St. Methodius
- Ostrow Tumski / Cathedral Island – it used to be an island on the river of Odra, and now it is widely considered to be birthplace of Wroclaw’s history
- St. John’s Baptist Cathedral – the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Wroclaw; known to be the first brick building in Poland; destroyed many times in the past but rebuilt by 1951
