Body Liposuction in Poland

In the global catalog of aesthetic medicine procedures, liposuction is the second most popular procedure, after breast plastic surgery. It is a tempting solution, especially for those who have been struggling with their own body unsuccessfully for years. The best candidates for fat removal are people with relatively normal body weight who have excess body fat in certain parts of the body.

What is liposuction surgery?

It is an invasive surgical procedure, otherwise known as liposuction or lipoplasty, which is performed to remove excess fat from the abdomen and its vicinity. It is used to model the figure and restore its proper proportions in situations where other methods, such as diet and physical activity, do not bring satisfactory results and the body is unable to cope with the breakdown of unwanted tissue on its own. In such cases, surgery seems to be an excellent alternative treatment. It is the most frequently performed plastic surgery because with little effort and in a relatively short time, the patient obtains visible and lasting results.

How is the surgery done?

Metal cannulas are used to suck out the fat – the so-called blunt needles. These are thin hollow tubes that do not cut tissue like traditional needles, but only push them apart and allow the fat deposits to break down. In the area of the patient’s body previously marked by the surgeon, small incisions are made through which they are inserted. During one operation lasting a few hours, a maximum of 3 liters of fat is removed.

Liposuction is a procedure involving the removal of excess fat accumulated in excess from certain parts of the body, such as:
face and neck, upper shoulder area, torso, stomach, hips, buttocks, thighs and drumsticks, knees, calves and ankles

Contraindications for liposuction:

cardiovascular disease, diabetes, heart diseases, blood coagulation disorders, vascular blemishes, varicose veins and inflammatory changes on the skin

Will I feel pain during the surgery?

Under the supervision of an anesthesiologist, it is performed under local anesthesia, which guarantees painlessness in the area of operation, or under general anesthesia – when the patient is under anesthesia. The type of anesthesia is dictated by the extent of the procedure and the patient’s safety.

How long does this surgery last?

The duration of liposuction depends on the area of the body subjected to liposuction and the amount of liposuction – usually it takes a few hours. The stay in the clinic is usually 1 day. Recovery time 5-7 days.

Will the results be noticeable immediately?

In the first days after the surgery, the effect of the procedure is not visible. Swelling of the tissues makes the treated area appear to have an increased circumference. The reduction in the circumference of the operated area is noticeable only after about 3-4 weeks, because the healing process takes place gradually. The best results after liposuction can be obtained for people with elastic skin. People who are significantly overweight or have saggy, loose skin may require additional surgery and achieve a satisfactory effect after several treatments. Removal of fat cells gives a permanent effect and even if the excess calories are absorbed, the fat tissue does not accumulate in the place where the liposuction was performed.

What can I expect after the surgery?

The scars after liposuction are very small (a few millimeters) and so localized that they become invisible.

The areas sucked out after the procedure are sometimes painful, swollen with slight bruising. By administering painkillers, subjective symptoms subside. Administration of an antibiotic is routinely used.
