Attractions in Krynica Morska and surroundings

Krynica Morska is a Polish town located in the pomorskie region, between the Gdansk Bay and the
Vistula Lagoon.The first confirmed mentions of settlement at the current area of Krynica Morska originated from between 1258 and 1282. During the Polish period, Krynica Morska was owned by Gdansk, after the year 1842 it
was taken over by Elblag. The town was significantly expanded after World War II. Krynica Morska gained administrative functions on April 2nd 1991, after being excluded from the Sztutowo community.

Bajkolandia

Bajkolandia is an amusement park ocated in Krynica Morska. It offers a large number of delightful attractions for children, which will make sure that the kids won’t be bored even for a second. When you purchase a ticket to „Bajkolandia”, you can enjoy a playground with a dry pool with balls, the „Aladyn” slide, the „Pinocchio” bouncy castle, trampolines and water balls. One of the major highlights of Bajkolandia is the upside-down house and a virtual reality zone, where you can play exciting games with the use of VR goggles.

The „Wielbladzi Grzbiet” dune

Wielbladzi Garb is the highest peak of the Vistula Spit, with the height of 49.5 meters. From the top of the dune you can observe the Gdansk Bay and the Vistula Lagoon. The „Wielbladzi Grzbiet” dune is located 2 kilometers away from the centre of Krynica Morska, next to the yellow trail. To get to the dune, you must follow Gdanska street from the centre of the town, and later turn to the Vistula Lagoon. You can reach „Wielbladzi Grzbiet” by following the nature path, and once you reach the peak, you will be able to admire the landscapes from the local observation tower.

The Katy Rybackie nature reserve

The Katy Rybackie nature reserve is located at the Vistula Spit, within the borders of the „Mierzeja Wislana” Landscape Park. It was created in 1957. In the beginning it occupied the surface of 10.79 hectares, but in 2000 it was expanded to 62.86 hectares. The Katy Rybackie Nature Reserve protects a colony of cormorants, which is the largest colony in Poland and also one of the largest colonies in Europe. Local lakes are full if fish, which are the main food for this
species.

The Vistula Lagoon Museum

The Vistula Lagoon Museum, located in the town of Katy Rybackie, is a division of the National Marine Museum in Gdansk. Visitors can see an exhibit associated with the history of fishing at the area of the Vistula Lagoon. Some of the artefacts in the museum include a giamt, 10-meter longboat, tools for wood processing, and fishing boats. In the Vistula Lagoon Museum you can learn about the history of fishing, and the life and work of fishermen in the past. You can even see an old boat, which used to sail at the Vistula Lagoon.

The Amber Museum in Stegna

The „Bursztynowa Komnata” Amber Museum is the first private museum in Poland, where you can see gorgeous specimens of amber and learn about the processing of amber. The museum is located inside a reconstructed house from Zulawy. Visitors can learn how amber is made, the origins of amber making and how this gorgeous gemstone is collected. The name of the museum refers to the legendary Amber Chamber, so you’ll also be able to learn about valuable lost treasures. Fans of amber products will also be able to buy jewelry from natural amber, which is created in a local workshop.
