Chelmno is lcoated at the Chelminska Land, where it played a crucial part in history. It was chosen by the Teutonic Order for the capital of their country, which made it the order’s most important place. From that moment on, it lived its times of greatness all the way until the 18th century, whne it was overtaken by Prussia. Nowadays you can still see stonehouses and a 19th century water tower.
