Lodz: Tour to Krakow

Poland is full of beautiful cities representing different styles of architecture but probably the most remarkable one in our country is Krakow – former capital and historic seat of Polish kings, center of cultural life, great example of medieval architecture and city of unforgettable atmosphere. We want to give you a chance to spend a pleasant day out in the most fascinating city of Poland and learn some history which can be experienced on every corner in Krakow. Take a look at the largest market square in Europe, listen to the legendary bugle call played every hour from the tower of St Mary’s Church and find out which university of Poland is the oldest one. All treasures of Krakow are waiting to be discovered!

Tour itinerary:

  1. morning pick up from your hotel in Lodz at chosen time
  2. up to 4 hours drive from Lodz to Krakow by private car/van with English speaking driver
  3. meeting our local, private city guide in chosen language after arriving in Krakow and up to 3 hours private walking tour around Old Town during which you will see:
  • the Slowacki Theatre, 19th-century eclectic theatre, one of the most spectacular buildings in the city,
  • the Barbican with the medieval defensive walls, great example of a medieval outer wall fortification, one of the best preserved in the continent,
  • the Florianska Gate (St. Florian’s Gate or Florian Gate), beginning of the Royal Route of Krakow,
  • Florianska Street, leading from the Florian Gate to the Market Square, full of souvenirs shops and restaurants, famous pedestrian area,
  • the Main Market Square, the biggest market square in Europe, surrounded by historic tenement houses; symbol of the city,
  • the Adam Mickiewicz monument dedicated to the famous Polish poet; located in the Market Square, popular meeting point
  • the Cloth Hall, former commercial centre, located in the middle of Market Square, a pearl of Renaissance architecture, one of the most famous buildings in Poland,
  • the Town Hall Tower, in the past the part of the town hall which was demolished in 1820,
  • St. Mary’s Basilica, brick gothic church, one of the most important sacred places in the country,
  • Collegium Maius and Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University, the oldest buildings of the most famous and oldest university in Poland,
  • All Saints Square with the Pope’s Window, where John Paul II used to appear and speak to the crowd during his pilgrimages to Poland
  • St. Peter’s and St. Pauls’ Church on Grodzka Street, first church in Krakow inspired by the sacred architecture of Roman baroque,
  • Kanonicza Street – the oldest in Krakow and probably the most beautiful one; former home of John Paull II who lived here
  • the Wawel Royal Castle with the Cathedral, symbol of Polish reach history; former seat of Polish kings
